Fail, fail, fail.

Hollywood full o' fail.

They are remaking True Grit.

"They" being the Coen brothers.

With Jeff Bridges as The Duke.

And ...
"I've never even seen the original John Wayne movie" Matt Damon, who plays Glen Campbell's old role of LaBeouf in this new version, told Entertainment Weekly. Unlike the old flick, this LaBeouf reportedly doesn't sing. "Our movie is totally different."
I don't recall that there was a heck of a lot of singing in the original, actually. And why doesn't it surprise me that Matt Damon hasn't seen True Grit?

There was much talk of this today around the airfield. It seems that, almost universally, we former military types don't believe that anyone should remake the Duke's movies. It borders on treason.

Grrr...

Donovan's Reef with...hell I don't even know most of today's actors by name. The fat gay-guy and the tall skinny gay one...describes most.
