Seriously, we're gonna let that homicidal madman win?

Pathetic.

You're right, there would be no question. But it would be the wrong thing to do, as I now believe going into Iraq was wrong as well.

The United States is not the world's police. We cannot clean up every tyrant and dictator who abuses his people.

Pournelle often uses a quote, attributed to Pres. Adams that sums up what I think - "We are the friends of liberty everywhere but the guardians only of our own."

His imperial Majesty's puerile posturing about "tightening the noose" is the icing on the inactivity cake. If the alleged leader of the Western World--granted that he cares not a fig for the Western World--is going to say shit like that, he better be prepared to back it up with a Carrier Battlegroup.
