Crime Pays For Police.

FORFEITURE ABUSE: Crime Pays For Police.
Asset forfeiture has been increasingly abused over the last few decades. It's one thing for a police department to confiscate the boat or car that was being used to run drugs, but seizure of a property because a crime was committed on it without the knowledge or participation of the property owners is too far.
Had a "Dutch" Uncle who was telling the story about how he told the hippies he didn't mind if they camped out on the bottom land, it wasn't worth farming, but he'd appreciate it if they'd respect his property rights by obeying the law, taking care with their campfires, and cleaning up after themselves.
If they had been busted for drugs, would it have cost him the entire farm? Maybe not then, but now...?
