In Amateur Radio Speak, "Phone" is voice transmissions.
Transmissions using Morse Code are "CW."
Voice transmission are measured on a scale of one to five for both signal strength and signal clarity or readability.
When using CW, a third measurement for quality of signal is added, "tone" measured from one to nine. ("Strength" may also be measured from one to nine, although it is not usual in phone.)
