Legislative Update from Olympia 12 June 2015
  • SKIPPED LAST WEEK
  • HALFWAY THROUGH THE SECOND SPECIAL SESSION
  • NO APPARENT PROGRESS ON THE BUDGET
  • A LITTLE ACTION IN THE HOUSE
  • STATE SHUTDOWN?
I skipped posting GOAL Post last week, nothing happening.  Kind of like this week!

Today is the halfway point of the second special session.  There has been no visible movement on the budget impasse.  Most days there is only a pro forma session -- rap the gavel, convene, set the time of the next gathering, rap the gavel and adjourn for the day.  Thursday the House passed a handful of bills, but nothing to do with firearms... or with the budget.

If no budget is passed, on 1 July non-essential state employees will be furloughed.  Your guess is as good as mine as to whether or not that would be  an improvement.  It would certainly impose a hardship on those employees and especially their families.
