ZOMG, WE'RE GONNA DIE!!1!ONE!!

One of the most fun parts of winter in these parts is participating in the periodic AR15.com Washington Hometown Forum mocking of the way the media make a big deal about winter.

Ladles and Jellyspoons, I give you... SNOWPOCALYPSE '08!!!11!!

(Have I mentioned lately that I feel that the Hometown Forums--Fora?--are the biggest advantage AR15.com has over The High Road or The Firing Line?)
(The fact that the Washington Hometown Forum is the absolute busiest one on the site has nothing to do with it.)
(OK, little to do with it.)
(OK, so we occasionally taunt the other states with the fact that we have more members, and more posts, than any of them.) (Especially Texas.)

We currently have what I might call a "dusting" here at Castle Drang, except for the fact that "slushing" would be a better word for it. The current weather conditions are making it so that the satellite dish, and even the DSL line, are being, well, "cranky" is a word that comes to mind. "Uncooperative." Or "pissy."

EDITED TO ADD: CAUTION! The banter around the "ARFCOM" campfire gets a little, um, rough. "Locker-roomish", if you know what I mean. It may come as a shock to those used to the genteel tone of The Firing Line and The High Road to wander among men who are not afraid to indulge in four letter words, and rough humor in public--and in front of their ladies and even, in some cases, their (more mature) children. Since the ladies and (moe mature) children seem to handle it well, though, all I can say is, if it bothers you, hang out elsewhere. But you don't know what you may be missing...

Okay that's pretty funny.

And the media blows yes they do. Harder than the weather.

I might actually have to join that forum...
