Stack 'em deep (Updates 2)

High Standard-capacity ammo magazines will be banned in Washington state starting July 1

By Associated Press - Monday, June 20, 2022

EVERETT, Wash. — Starting July 1, the sale of ammunition magazines with more than 10 rounds will be banned in Washington state. Importing, manufacturing and distributing them will be outlawed, too.

The only magazines allowed for sale and importing will be those with a maximum capacity of 10 cartridges under a measure pushed through by Democrats and signed by Gov. Jay Inslee earlier this year, the Everett Herald reported.

Washington residents can continue buying larger magazines until the law takes effect. Any owned as of July 1 are unaffected by the law.

The Second Amendment Foundation and other gun rights organizations filed a federal lawsuit this month claiming the new law violates constitutional protections under the Second and Fourteenth amendments. They’ve sought to block the law with an injunction but no hearing had been set as of Friday.

Yes, I made an editorial correction to the title of the article.

In the meantime, here are a couple of sources to help:

  • Brownell's Mag Dump for WA. $2.00 from the sale of each of these mags will go to fund the second Amendment Foundation's legal challenge to this ban.
  • Aero Precision 2AF Standard Capacity mags. "The net proceeds from each of these magazines sold will go directly to the Second Amendment Foundation to help fund legal action to defeat this unconstitutional bill."
UPDATE: The 98-double-ought-3 fishwrap ran an article about this, that not only quoted Dave Workman and Alan Gottlieb, but the web article LINKED to the Aero Precision mag sale above!
UPDATE 2: Rainier Arms is advertising free ground shipping on mags shipped to Washington State. (Which is great if you live more than 20 minutes from the sales store, unlike me...) (Then again, with the price of gasoline... )

Let it be known...

Let it be known that on this day I triggered a leftist.

(IM conversation at work re: mask mandate being ruled illegal)
Her: Trump-appointed judge in Florida. Meh.
Me: U.S. Constitution. Separation of Powers. Meh yourself.

It's amazing how many people that trumpeted (heh) judges overruling President Trump  are now losing their shit.

Not surprising, just... amazing.

"The Wokists"

Tal Bachman: We Have Met the Enemy

The strange figures known as Wokists currently destroying America aren't just reprises of earlier enemies. They represent something rather new. The political cult of Wokism combines the worst aspects of every political cult in history.

Whether they realize it or not, Wokists themselves combine the lunatic loyalty of the Manson family with the hollow pseudo-joy of Jonestown residents, the racism of National Socialists, the inhumanity of Mao Tse-Tung, the bratty tantrums of Veruca Salt, the nihilism of Bakunin-style anarchists, the totalitarianism of Stalin's Soviet Union, the child torture and sacrifice of the Mayans, the derangement of Heaven's Gate followers, the sadistic violence of the Jacobins, and the ruthless control-freakism of the current Chinese Communist Party.

Now add to that noxious syncretic blend the Wokist use of powerful communication technologies to shape narratives and meta-narratives, destroy opponents, and recruit new converts, and you've got yourself a thing.

"Real Capitalism Has Never Been Tried"

White House moves to reshape role of US capitalism

The White House is pushing an infrastructure bill that could reshape the discussion around capitalism as it seems to reestablish the federal government as a primary driver of how the economy should grow and function.

In addition to traditional infrastructure projects, Biden’s $2.25 trillion American Jobs Plan would make government investments in broadband, electric vehicles, climate change, elderly care, child benefits, housing and developing future technologies.

It would redefine classic infrastructure projects to include investments in workers and families paid for by tax hikes on corporations.

This would not be "capitalism."

An economic system in which the means of production are privately owned, but actual production is controlled or dictated by the government is called... fascism.

You commie fucks.

Told You So

Not that anyone that reads this blog is likely to have needed telling, but...

Dave Workman writes: Gun Prohibitionist Agenda Confirms ‘Slippery Slope’ - Liberty Park Press
Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that when the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives convenes next month, “We will pass common sense gun violence prevention legislation soon, and…it will be bipartisan,” which remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, here in Washington AC, NRA-ILA sends:
NRA-ILA | Washington: Anti-Gun Group Announces 2019 Agenda
On December 5th, the Alliance for Gun Responsibility, a group backed by out-of-state elites, announced it will pursue its most extreme anti-gun legislative agenda to date during the upcoming 2019 Washington Legislative Session.  This comes less than one month after the Alliance for Gun Responsibility and Seattle tech-billionaires spent millions to pass Initiative 1639, which made the state’s gun control laws amongst the worst in nation.

Some of the most egregious restrictions in the Alliance for Gun Responsibility’s 2019 agenda includes the following:
  • Standard Capacity Magazine Ban:  Targets commonly owned standard capacity ammunition magazines by arbitrarily branding them as “High Capacity Magazines,” and restricts access for self-defense purposes.
  • Government Mandated Training to Obtain CPL:  Would require all new applicants and renewing holders of a concealed pistol license show documentation they have completed a firearms safety course
  • Abolish State Preemption:  Washington’s state preemption statute, passed in 1983, helps keep firearm and ammunition laws consistent throughout the state by establishing that the State Legislature has full authority to regulate and create laws pertaining to firearms and ammunition.  These statutes help prevent a confusing patchwork of gun control laws which make it difficult for gun owners to ensure that they are following the law and also protects the Second Amendment rights of all Washingtonians, regardless of where they reside.
  • Remove Second Amendment Rights without due process:  Impose a firearm prohibition for any person who has been released from a 72-hour mental health evaluation. This type of legislation removes a constitutional right without any mental health adjudication or judicial determination, and without any due process of law.
  • Expand “Gun-Free Zones” to child care facilities and early learning centers:  This type of policy creates arbitrary boundaries around areas where law-abiding individuals are prohibited from carrying a firearm for self-defense.  These arbitrary boundaries do not deter criminals.
  • Firearm Destruction by Washington State Patrol:  Allows for the destruction of all firearms confiscated by or forfeited to the Washington State Patrol.  Like other seized items, these firearms should be sold by law-enforcement to generate revenue instead of spending money to have them destroyed.
  • Require Reporting of Lost or Stolen Firearms by setting a timeframe for when they must be reported under penalty of law:  Individuals should not be further victimized after experiencing a burglary or other loss.
Your NRA will continue to fight for the Second Amendment rights of Washingtonians and will be at the Capitol on a daily basis throughout the 2019 legislative session.  Your active participation is needed to help protect self-defense rights in the Evergreen state.  Please sign up as an NRA Frontlines volunteer and get at least three fellow gun owners to also sign up to receive timely legislative alerts on firearm-related bills during this upcoming session.  Make plans to attend committee hearings on these bills in Olympia when NRA-ILA notifies you of the place and location.  Also, contact your state lawmakers before and during session urging them to OPPOSE these measures.
Please stay tuned to your email inbox and www.nraila.com for further updates on pre-filed bills and ways to be involved when the legislature convenes on January 14th.

Word Of The Day: Baizuo

The Word Of the Day is: Baizuo (from Urban Dictionary.)
Baizuo (pronounced "bye-tswaw) is a Chinese epithet meaning naive western educated person who advocates for peace and equality only to satisfy their own feeling of moral superiority. A baizuo only cares about topics such as immigration, minorities, LGBT and the environment while being obsessed with political correctness to the extent that they import backwards Islamic values for the sake of multiculturalism.

The Chinese see the baizuo as ignorant and arrogant westerners who pity the rest of the world and think they are saviours.
Justin Trudeau's worldview is a low-resolution caricature of an adult's worldview.

Baizuo at Wikipedia.
Baizuo (Chinese: 白左, literally "White left(ies)"[1]) is a derogatory Chinese epithet that came into being in the middle 2010's.[2][3] The word received attention in Germany where it was seen as criticizing the immigration policies of Angela Merkel.[4][5][6]

Context and usage

The word baizuo is, according to political scientist Zhang Chenchen, a Chinese word that ridicules Western "Liberal elites".[7] The term has also been used to refer to perceived double standards of the Western media, such as the alleged bias on reporting about Islamist attacks in Xinjiang.[8][9][10]
Zhang Chenchen further defined the word "baizuo" with the definition "People who only care about topics such as immigration, minorities, LGBT and the environment" and “have no sense of real problems in the real world”; they are hypocritical humanitarians who advocate for peace and equality only to “satisfy their own feeling of moral superiority”; they are “obsessed with political correctness” to the extent that they “tolerate backwards Islamic values for the sake of multiculturalism”; they believe in the welfare state that “benefits only the idle and the free riders”; they are the “ignorant and arrogant westerners” who “pity the rest of the world and think they are saviours”.[11]
Baizuo is used as an insult amongst Chinese netizens.

WSJ OpEd: "The Liberal Theology of Gun Control"

The Liberal Theology of Gun Control - WSJ, (by William McGurn.)
...while the critiques of the president’s antigun pitch are correct, they are also beside the point. Because liberal calls for gun control aren’t about keeping guns from bad guys. It’s what you talk about so you don’t have to talk about the reality of Islamist terror. And focusing on the weaponry is part of a liberal argument that dates to the Cold War, when calls for arms control were likewise used to avoid addressing the ugly reality of communism.

Understand this, and you understand why Senate Democrats reacted to San Bernardino by putting forth antigun legislation. Why the New York Times ran a gun control editorial on its front page, and the Daily News used its own cover to feature the National Rifle Association’s Wayne LaPierre underneath San Bernardino killer Syed Farook—labeling them both terrorists. And why President Obama used Sunday night’s address to whine about those resisting his call for gun measures that would not have stopped any of the shooters.

Put simply, today’s liberalism cannot deal with the reality of evil. So liberals inveigh against the instruments the evil use rather than the evil that motivates them.

As always, you can get to a Wall Street Journal article without paying to go behind the paywall by Googling the article title: The Liberal Theology of Gun Control.

Typical classy gun banner does the Blood Dance

Too Soon? Nick Hanauer Posts Sarcastically, ‘We Need More School Shootings!!!’ | KUOW News and Information
This is the tweet in question:
Seen at KUOW News and Information
Nick Hanauer, of course, is one of the billionaires who is backing Washington State Ballot Initiative 594, which would mandate a background check for nearly every firearms transfer in the state, even if all you are doing is swapping guns with your buddy on the range.

Seen at KUOW, the NPR station of U of W. Not too crazy about their headline, either, frankly. According to the article, several backers of I594 have asked him to take the tweet down, but it was still up late this afternoon.

Liberals.  Can't live with 'em, can't string 'em up from the nearest lamppost, no matter how big a douche bag they are.

The Liberal/Progressive/Statist/Gun Banner Mind

Yesterday at work one of the crew walked up to my colleague and I, shaking his head.  "Another mass shooting.  Shopping mall in New Jersey."

Today I asked him "So, some known drug dealer steals a gun and shoots himself in a shopping mall, and it's a mass shooting?"

He seems to have suffered amnesia...

Has Obama announced quartering of soldiers yet?
I never would have thought that one could pack so much trenchant wit into 140 characters, but Iowahawk consistently delivers...

Y'know, if it was just the one scandal... Just Fast and Furious, just the GM/Chrysler buyouts, just Benghazi, just the utter failue at Hurricane Sandy, just the whole green industry boondoggle, just the AP witch-hunt, just the IRS Tea Party witch hunt...
I'm trying real hard to make those last two make sense, or at least sound remotely Constitutional, but... I got nuthin'.

Making the facts fit the narrative -- by hook or by crook

Seen on the screen crawl of a TV set to CNN today:
SUSPECTS FROM CAUCASUS REGION OF EASTERN EUROPE
Um, no.

Okay, look, yes, Chechnya is on the eastern edge of Europe.  But it is hardly "European."  More to the point, when as a colleague pointed out today as I was shaking my head over this, "Most people haven't a clue where Chechnya is", to which I replied "They don't know where the Caucasus is, either, but saying 'Caucasian Region' makes it sound like the bombers were Westerners, which bolsters the whole 'murderous Tea Partying NRA members' meme they were trying to push."

The point being, Chechnya is a Muslim nation, which is infamous for it's violence; the Russians fought two bitter wars there, and have threatened more.  The domestic scene is hardly tranquil, and the government is regularly accused of oppression and "ethnic cleansing."

Nevertheless, to the average low information (AKA "Obama") voter, Caucasus=Caucasian=Northern European ("White") man.  (Low information voters, by definition, being unaware of and uninterested in the fact that the Chechens make extensive use of female homicide bombers.)

Looks like they brought it with them.
The brothers who are alleged to have planted bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday reached the United States in 2002 after their ethnic Chechen family fled the Caucasus. They had been living in the Central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan and were prevented from resettling in war-racked Chechnya.

In speaking about his boxing career in 2009, Tamerlan said he would not want to represent Russia, a hint that past troubles were not forgotten. In recent months, he appeared increasingly drawn to radical Islam. On a YouTube channel, he shared videos of lectures from a radical Islamic cleric; in one, voices can be heard singing in Arabic as bombs explode.
As I indicated in the footnote to my previous post, the Seattle metropolitan area has a large "Russian" immigrant community; "Russian" is in quotes because, by ethnicity and nation-of-origin, it is "Russian" only because it speaks that language; there are nearly as many Ukranians as actual Russians, for example, and I see many tattoos and bumper stickers, among other signs, indicating a connection to Chechnya.

If the mad "Russian" bombers are exporting their insane savagery to my area, I don't think I'll be going out unarmed if I can avoid it at all...

Anyway. Back to the topic of making the facts fit the narrative, somehow:  CNN Claims Pressure Cooker Bombs Somehow ‘Signature’ of Extreme Right Terrorists | NewsBusters

As Newsbusters points out, the CNN article fails to cite a single case of a "right wing" terrorism using pressure cookers. This pretty much ties in with all the claims by the leftist media, not to mention the hopes and prayers of leftists everywhere, that "Please let it have been a white man!" (IIRC, Salon.com ran an article with that title, almost word-for-word.)

Early in the days of this blog, I caught some flak for suggesting that it is a mistake to "ass-you-me that any act of terrorism must have been committed by a Muslim", or that all Muslims are terrorists.

I still do not believe every Muslim is a terrorist.

Unfortunately, the Muslim world does not seem very interested in proving otherwise.

Patriot's Day

Usually, on April 19th, I post about Lexington and Concord, and the American Revolution.

This time...  Given the events of the last week, I keep coming back to this:

Earlier this week, I had some errands to run after work, and instead of coming back home, showering and changing and then going out, I just went out on the way home*.

Saw a vehicle on the road with two bumper stickers:
Obama/Biden 2012
and
Dissent is the highest form of patriotism
So much fail there.

First, let's consider the semantics.  (Also maybe a problem of perception.)  Certainly, dissenting against an unjust policy, war, etc. is a Good Thing.  But what about a just policy, or war?  A foe invades your country bent on conquest and destruction, and collaboration is patriotism?

Reads like something out of Orwell.

Then there's the fact that this nitwit probably thinks that, every time I disagree with His Imperial Majesty, Barack Hussein Obama, I am a racist, crypto-fascist, bitterly clinging closet mass murderer cum terrorist, but whenever he disagreed with President Bush he was simply expressing the highest form of patriotism...

Admittedly, it is not "certain" that he thinks that, but since he hasn't removed the Obama/Biden bumper sticker, and, in fact, replaced the 2008 one with a 2012 one, it's probably safe to say that.

Maybe it's a bit of some sort of cognitive dissonance.

Or maybe some forms of dissent are more high than others.

*Since I cannot carry at work, I don't think I'll be doing this again any time soon, what with mad Chechens importing their insane homicidal cause. Large population of "Russian" immigrants around here, and I've seen many tattoos and bumper stickers to indicate a connection with that tragic nation.

A couple of interesting items seen on Facebook

Graphic: Pro-Gun Laws Gain Ground - WSJ.com. "Since Newtown Massacre, More States Ease Regulations Than Bolster Them"

The article this accompanies is behind the Journal's "pay wall", but the graphic is pretty striking. Five states have enacted laws "strengthening" gun laws, and, frankly, the summary of such laws in Wyoming, Utah, and Mississippi reads like something many in the Gun Culture would support. (Which is not an endorsement.)

As for the so-called "weakening" of gun laws, well, so far as I can tell, that's progressive-speak for "Strengthening gun rights."

Speaking of which, the New York Times published an article entitled In Mass Attacks, Public Now Advised to Take Action. They actually admit that some mass murders are stopped by citizens shooting the perpetrator!

No doubt the entire Democratic Caucus has taken to their beds with the vapors.

Who does he think he is?

Never mind, I know.

Obama Budget to Cap Retirement Accounts at $3 Million
According to a White House statement, the Obama administration believes the current rules allow some wealthy individuals "to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving."
Okay, so he hasn't forwarded a successful budget yet. Still.
