History...

OK, I always enjoyed history. The only reason I didn't enjoy history class, was when they were covering eras I knew better than the teacher.

What I hate about the History Channel:

• Conspiracy Theories
• UFOs
• Occult
• Over-dramatization ("For the first time, we can show you where Jesus took a dump!")
• Reality TV--Ice Road Truckers and Axe Men aren't history!
• They dropped R. Lee Ermey! (OK, so Gunny may have just tired of the show, I don't know... FWIW, BTW, there's a remote possibility the Drang clan may be related to the Ermey clan...)

What I like about the History Channel:

• Not embarrassed to honor heroes.
• Make an effort to find hot experts. My respect for Victor Davis Hanson is unabated, but I'd rather watch Bettany Hughes! (Who might be related to Mrs. Drang...) For example; some of the scientists they have on The Universe would have made science classes far better attended, if not actually paid attention to...
• Modern Marvels. Probably doesn't belong on the History Channel, but still cool.
