Been a busy week. Got the bathroom refinished, although it certainly needs at least another coat of paint and maybe some more spackling and sanding, too. Am now contemplating that the next time we do a remodel, we will have the contractor do the painting. Will cost more, but will be easier on my back...
Spent the weekend at the 10th Annual Communications Academy, an event for Amateur Radio in emergency/disaster response. Great event, learned a lot, and did a fair amount of networking. As a plus, I ran into an old friend I had lost contact with, whom I hadn't even known was a ham. I'll be posting my impressions of the event either here or in the Ham forum at AR15.com. Photos will probably be there, either way, so I'll post a note here so anyone interested can look there.
Saturday night we went to a beer tasting at the Museum of Flight; this was my birthday present from Mrs. Drang. It could definitely have been better organized: No tickets were mailed out, so if you bought them on line you had to wait 45 minutes in the rain for Will Call. At first, people who had gone to the museum to buy tickets and therefore had paper tickets were also standing in the same line. They sold so many tickets that the museum was packed--it looked like they had sold the museum's Fire Marshal authorized capacity. Food at the buffet was mediocre at best, barely warm (cold fish and chips!), and there were so many people that many of the breweries were running out of gas for their taps, or even of beer!
Back to the Bathroom: My paint roller calls...
