Was interested to see an article about the Gurkha in Sunday's Seattle Slimes.
I recall in '99 sitting in my platoon office
reading the Stars and Stripes and predicting that Milosevich would cave before NATO invaded. Those present, including one with a degree in history and another of Sikh ancestry, asked why and I replied "The Brit advance is to be spearheaded by the Gurkhas."
One fact that leapt off the page at me was the fact that in 2010 women will be recruited as Gurkhs!
