You know you're a history geek when you read this article in the news, and your first thoughts are not "Gee, there goes Freedom of the Press in England", not "Ah, striking a blow for privacy!", not "Isn't it illegal for the press to plant a bug like that?", not "Grand Prix motor racing will never be the same", and not even salacious curiosity about alleged "Nazi Death Camp-themed S&M orgies", but rather "Hey! Wasn't his father the head English fascist, pre-WWII?"
And you're right.
I suppose his father's identity had to play a part in the story, even if it turned out the alleged Nazi Death Camp theme orgy did not happen. (At least, not on the night in question.) I mean, that was probably the first thing that came to mind, when they, whoever "they" were, heard that Oswald Mosley's kid was engaging in some kind of S&M play.
Further proof, if it was needed, that rich people aren't necessarily smarter than poor folks, they are just better able to indulge their stupidity.
And I'm a History Geek.
