Practical Numerology

I've seen a few articles over the last week or so about people scheduling their nuptials for today, "Because 08/08/08 is lucky."

Lucky for the husband who has an easy anniversary date to remember, maybe...

Lucked out here--I was in Korea, Mrs. Drang was planning everything with little help from me--maybe that's the norm, I don't know, but I had an excuse besides "It's her job"--and I called her and said "This is when I have mid-tour leave."

So I lucked out with March 21st as my anniversary: 3/21.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Drang had told me (unnecessarily, I thought) that I should not have any problem remembering her birthday, because "It's the number you'll be calling if you forget: 9-11."

So, yes, she hates Bin Laden even more than I do.

(Via IM, Mrs. Drang tells me that
...there was a game on radio yesterday morning, they were asking "what 150,000 people plan to do (in Japan and several other countries) [today] - must have gone through at least a dozen calls before someone said "get married"...
and she regretted not having followed my example of getting the bluetooth on as soon getting behind the wheel...)

Every year I my best girlfriend gets a belated birthday card from her brother, late as always. He always says "I just forget".

They're twins.

We laugh as like me, we're just flat out awful at dates.

But I can tell you what I had for lunch the day I shot that 1 inch grouping at 1000 yards.

I always forget my sister's birthday--we're not twins, but she was born on my second birthday. (I tell people I wanted a pony but I got a little sister instead.)
As I always tell Mrs. Drang, the only reason I remember my own birthday is that she badger me about what I want.
