Xavier Thoughts: The Legacy of Kristen Brydum

Xavier Thoughts: The Legacy of Kristen Brydum

The story is familiar. Tragic. Pathetic, in the sense that the people who are responsible for the dead young woman "growing up"--quotes, because back in Detroit we would say she hadn't really grown up--naively believing that if she wandered around the country relying on the generosity and niceness and goodness of strangers, Everything Would Be All Right, are all saying "We don't understaaaaand!" Because, of course, the people who are responsible for raising sheeple* usually aren't even aware of the dichotomy between people and sheeple, between wolves, sheep, and sheepdogs...

Alas, Kristen Brydum was a sheeple. From the sounds of it, she only associated with sheeple--until her last night on earth, which she spent in Hell, by choice!

Yes, I am saddened by the young woman's death. I am more saddened by the fact that our society raises such idiots. Some of the comments left to Xavier's post are, frankly alarming.

I mean, really, what kind of world view would hold that the CIA has little enough on it's plate that it can worry about some wandering, anarcho-socialist "hippy chick" in Naw 'leans?

*I would like to think that both** of my regular readers are familiar with the term, but on the off chance that some unknowing person has stumbled on my blog by accident, "sheeple" are "people" who behave like "sheep".

**Blogger tells me that 3 other bloggers are "following" The Clue Meter, which, with Mrs.Drang and Dad Drang, tells me that 5 people are actually reading these maunderings. Still, "both of my regular readers" is far more modest than "all of my readers", if nothing else...
