Brotherly Love my @$$

Hat tip to Tam. Video posted on BucksRight.

Now, I'm sure that the police officers involved in this, if you can identify and interview any of them, will argue that they were afraid that the presence of a white man wearing a McCain-Palin t-shirt in a crowd of celebrating Obama supporters was going to lead to one of the riots we have all been warned of since about one minute after Obama announced his candidacy.

I will argue that they may have prevented mayhem in the short term, but in the long term they just made things worse.

Hindsight is 20/20, of course, but as soon as the man said "My car is on the other side of that" they should have escorted him to it. Preferably with a Squad Wedge of the biggest, burliest cops they could find. Well, maybe not, but this completes the image of Philadelphia as a city that is so heavily politicized that only sucking up to the man in charge matters--even if he is not yet in charge.

Ben Franklin is probably spinning in his grave so fast he's flown apart.
