Aftermath, take two

Starting to snow as I got home from work yesterday. Real small powdery flakes, indicator of how cold it was. Continued all night, at least until after I went to bed, although much of the time we had to turn on the back porch light and look close to be sure that it was snowing; those small, powdery flakes again.

Wind was blowing pretty good, too, although it was quiet. Odd.

Got some pictures just now when I went for the paper--which was delivered, amazingly--and if they are any good I'll post them here in a bit. After coffee, and breakfast.

For now:

EDIT TO add:
Some of the photos came out OK. Here are a couple.

Taken about 08:30-09:00. Ratbane and Sparrowbane on the back porch, trying to figure out who is responsible for this disgustin' situation. Ratbane, ever intrepid, finally decided to venture forth to the treeline to do his business. Sparrowbane is just fine with the litterbox, thank you very much.

Taken about 12:30. It started snowing about 11:00, small pellet-y snow like last night, so fine you could hardly see it and weren't sure it was snow falling, or being blown off trees and roofs and such. By 12:15 or thereabouts it had warmed up enough that it was big, fluffy theatrical flakes, coming down pretty good.

(Apologies if the captions run alongside the photos, I'm having trouble with that right now...)

In the meantime, is too cold and snowy and icey to do much but stay at home and read or bake cookies, so Mrs. Drang ha started a batch of oatmeal raisin. Ratbane has curled up for a long winter's nap, and Sparrowbane is trying to figure out how to get at those birdies he can see at the feeders. (Problem with one of the feeders, it was full of finch mix and what didn't freeze may have started to go moldy. So it is sitting in the sink until it thaws enough to deal with.) I think we'll have hot buttered rum to go with lunch...

Phoebe has decided all the snow is a personal affront to her, so she is not a happy kitten. Rum Tum of course is in Maine Coon heaven with all the wonderful snow to play in.
