Read the Stimulus

Courtesy Powerline, we learn of a new website, Read The Stimulus.

Any who were reading these maunderings back in September will recall that I had decided, based on the ill effects that a collapse of commercial credit would have on the economy, that the original bailout was a Good Idea, although I was less than fond of the way it was implemented. (Incentives for bicycle commuters and makers of toy bows-and-arrows?)

The current stimulus being mooted by the Democrats seems pointless, however.

For example, the economy is in such dire straits that there is no time to even read the bill, let alone debate it, but only 20% +/- is even going to be spent in 2009...

Then we get asinine comments like proposals that the jobs created by the stimulus bill should include quotas to ensure that too many of them don't go to white males. Or the whole "Birth control will save is money in the long run" thing. Not to mention the Democrats' refusal to recognize that one of the best ways to get the economy going is always to cut taxes.
