Quote of the Day, and stuff

QOTD:
“The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury.” - George Washington
and, while we're at it:
“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and the corporations which grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their father conquered.”
- Thomas Jefferson

EDIT to add:  Courtesy Gateway Pundit, did you remember that His Imperial Majesty Barack Hussein Obama the First said, during his Presidential Campaign, not once but at least twice,
"Sunlight is the greatest disinfectent... No more secrecy*... And, when there's a bill that ends up on my desk as president, you the public will have 5 days to look online and find out what's in it before I sign it."
Which, of course, has just been revealed as just yet another campaign promise:
Barack Obama is going to sign the largest spending bill in US history on Monday. It had only been posted online for 12 hours before it was voted on in the US House and Senate. On Monday this boondoggle will be signed into law... Total time online- less than 4 days.
GP has video of the campaign promise being made.

*Ref: "No more secrecy",   Dissenting Justice has a pretty interesting post on Obamacles' invoking the State Secrets priviledge".  DL Hutchinson may be a self-confessed "progressive" lawyer, but he is pretty good at sending up the BS Flag...
