Supply & Demand

About six, seven months  ago we began to get an object lesson in one of the major forces of nature, The Law Of Supply And Demand.  Progressive (read: Liberal, Socialist) politicans are perennially convinced that they are smart enough to get around it somehow, but they always come acropper, in the end.

So, anyway, six, sven months ago, people got skeert that The People were going to elect this slick-talkin' progreessive who was going to fart rainbows and butterflies, and that all thee eeeeevil gins were going to Go Away.

So they started buying stuff up.  We've seen the shortages in guns and ammo; now, Phil at Random Nuclear Strikes brings our attention to a new, local effect:  People who never had a Washington State Concealed Pistol License (CPL), or who had  one and let it lapse, started a run on that commodity, with the result that, while your CPL may have issued, it may not yet be In The system.

Your CPL may say that it was approved on December 1st, 2008, but when you present it at the local Merchant of Death gun shop, it comes up as expired, delinquent.

Embarassing.

Doubly so if, for some reason, you happen to present your CPL to a member of the local gendarmery.   And even more so if you are travelling to a state which honors WA CPLs.
