Sometimes I can't find the words to express my feelings. Or somebody else says it better. Or I lose interest. Sometimes, as I've mentioned before, I get a post started and don't finish it. Maybe it doesn't come together, I have more to say or I'm not satisfied for some reason and keep tinkering with it...
Sometimes, I'm sure, someone might wonder "Why hasn't Drang said anything about this, it's right up his alley." As a native Detroiter, with ties to all of the Big Three, seeing two of the three fail makes me sad. The US Government/UAW takeover of Chrysler and GM, for example: It was bad enough that His Imperial Majesty started dictating business policy to the private sector, and then, when it develops that he is frankly bullying the financial sector into doing things His way, well... Outrage is the best description.
And, frankly, these matters are often better covered by other bloggers, by (to cite only the ones who post more-or-less daily) Gateway Pundit, Instapundit, Powerline, Frank, Roberta, Tamara, Turk. . .
In the case of the Department of Homeland Security's recent report on Right Wing Extemist Groups recruiting combat vets for their dastardly, nefarious goals.... Well, we knew fifteen years ago that criminal and extremist groups of various descriptions were encouraging members to enlist for the training. I knew several First Sergeants who were freely admitting to violating all kinds of regulations and laws by carrying concealed on post, on duty*.
If DHS had simply left politics out of it, it would have been a yawner. To me, it served mainly as proof that the Democrats--the current regime, at least-- are incompetent clods. So, maybe we can add "Sometimes, the conclusions are better left unsaid."
And then again, sometimes I'll let it go until something else pops up. Reading Dave Workman's leading article in the most recent New Gun Week, I see that DHS also released (to apparently no fanfare at all) an assessment on Left Wing extremists--of course, being left wingers (mainly environmental groups) they are seen as posing a danger of cyber attacks...
That's right, the peace loving
Note that the .pdf links to the reports above go to the web site of the Federation of American Scientists. (And why do scientists have a union?) At first I thought it was the Firearms Academy of Seattle. Oh, well...

*For what it's worth, I didn't. Saw no need to. Then again, anyone who makes it into the unit I was First Sergeant of, is highly unlikely to pose that kind of threat.
