Gardening FAIL

Mrs. Drang points out that the horribly overexposed flowers in the first photograph in this post were not roses, but, in fact, peonies, from her father's garden.

I pointed out that about all I know about flowers is how to kill them, but She Was Not Amused.

So here are a couple of photos of real roses. With real thorns. From our backyard.

Yes, this rose "bush" is taller than our house.


Well, the peonieses are as big as these. I suppose I'd've noticed that they had no thorns, but my hands still hurt from the trimming last week, so I didn't want to chance it...
