Well, yes

Uncle's Quote of the Day:
Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership Board Member, Joan Peterson:
I give you the argument of the guys with the “man pants” on ladies and gentlemen-” We’re saying that we’d rather have more gun deaths and lower overall violent crime, than zero gun deaths and higher rates of violent crime if given the choice” And there you have it. Nothing more to say here except “Wow” and “unbelievable”
She’s saying she’d rather have more overall violent crime than any gun crime.
A lot of gun bloggers took turns having dealings with "japete." I think she's typical, and illustrative of the divide between hoplophobes and gun rights activists, in that they feel that any "gun death" is bad, even that of a would-be rapist or wife-beater or child molester, shot by a law-abiding citizen in self-defense or defense of others.

They mean well--but so what?  So did Neville Chamberlain.

Submitted for your consideration: This attitude is evil, and anti-social, and uncivilized.
