Further brilliance from Survival Preps participant Razorbacker in the thread "Radiation In Perspective":
If you look at this chart http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/nuclear/tests/USA-ntestsS.html you see 210 American above ground nuclear tests.
That's probably why no one lives in Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, or Colorado, and why you can't drive across those areas or fly above them to this day.
