That old chestnut is less funny to one who is aware of the old (or auld) explanation that "People are 'Scots', things are 'Scottish', and real whisky--no 'e'!--is 'Scotch.'"
Anyway, to the extent that I have been motivated to do any genealogical research, I have no Scots ancestry, which makes my fondness for bagpipes all the more mysterious, not to mention that I neglected to post a post for Tartan Day.
Blackfive has two (or twa) good 'uns, one about the Declaration of Arbroath, and the other about Scotch. Not to mention this post with the cautionary statement "You never want to mock haggis because that's just mean..."
