Clear, sober analysis...

Was just at Safeway picking up a loaf of bread to turn into garlic bread to go with spaghetti for dinner, the Seattle Times' headline for today is MEGASTORM LOOMS FOR SEATTLE!!!11!

Naturally, the aisles were packed--at 2 PM!--with people stocking up on chips and dip and beer.  All anyone could talk about, the manager was checking "What time can you be here for your shift tomorrow...?"

The Times seems to have backed off their rather, um, spectacular prophecy...
The Weather Beat | Less snow in the forecast? It's 'evolving.' | Seattle Times Newspaper
How much snow could fall in the Seattle area Wednesday now appears to anybody's best guess.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service on Monday predicted between 6 and 14 inches to fall, the heaviest snowfall in decades. This morning, though, meterologist Allen Kam said that the area should expect between 5 and 10 inches.
Granted that five inches of snow is a lot for here...

...Still , the forecast now says we will see more snow Thursday, although that's not in the NOAA/NWS Advisory posted on Weather Underground:  Warnings for Seattle/Bremerton Area, Washington.
