7 AM, my coffee not even made, cat not even fed his "pink stuff"*, and I'd already seen the Quote of the Day.

If you want less of something, like tobacco or income, tax it. If you want more of something, like tobacco or unemployment, subsidize it. (And if you want proof that our government is crazy, roll those two sentences around in your head for awhile...)

Then, there was another one.  IN THE SAME POST!!!

With the evil dictator Mubarak gone, the moderate and peace-loving secular government of Egypt is now issuing arrest warrants for United States citizens for the crime of blasphemy. If the US government would like to lose all legitimacy with its citizens in one swell foop, well, opportunities like this one don't come along every day...

Damnit, Tamara, leave some pithy, snarky wisdom for others, would you?

*Yes, Ratbane lost a fight.  Honestly, this may be the first fight he actually lost, by the rule of thumb established years ago by the emergency (midnight) vet: "If the wounds are in front, he won; if they're in back, he lost."  My buddy's getting old, and may no longer be the rough, tough ruler of the neighborhood he used to be.
But he's still my buddy.
