Girl, 15, stabbed to death in British knife crime epidemic Mon Jun 2, 1:26 PM ET
A 15-year-old girl was stabbed to death in London on Monday, police said, becoming the 16th teenager to die violently in the capital this year.
The teenager was discovered with multiple stab wounds in a lift inside a block of flats near Waterloo railway station, the Metropolitan Police said.
An ambulance service spokesman said: "Sadly, despite extensive efforts to resuscitate the patient, she was pronounced dead at the scene."
A male was arrested in connection with the stabbing, police said.
Faced with a wave of such killings, the government last week launched an anti-knife campaign, targeting teenagers with gory pictures of actual stab wounds to be shown on social networking websites.
Well, I'm sure the ad campaign will work our very well for them.
