Paging Al Gore! ((Take 2)

In Goracle Dodges Czech President Klaus at Climate Conference, Gateway Pundit points several flaws in the entire Globull Warming Doom 'n' Glooms Messiah's agenda:
Arctic sea ice growth finished the year in 2008 at the same level as 1979.
The oceans have been cooling since 2003.
Sea ice is growing at the fastest pace on record.
Greenland's glaciers are stabilizing.
There are growing fears of a coming freeze worse than the ice age.
Alaskan Sea Glaciers are advancing for the first time in 250 years.
And, for the second straight year the Earth is, in fact, cooling... not warming.
Again courtesy of Gateway Pundit, here is NOAA's Climate Map for the USA for 2008:

But, evidently, Mr. Gore does not want to talk to anyone about this; The Wall Street Journal reports
At the Wall Street Journal's ECO:nomics conference in Santa Barbara, California, Mr. Gore was initially scheduled to appear with Czech President Vaclav Klaus, a noted skeptic on global warming. Mr. Gore changed his schedule so he could appear the previous day. President Klaus told me this week that the major reason he agreed to travel from Europe was the chance to interact with Mr. Gore. "I don't understand all of this reluctance to engage with others," he told me.

Sounds to me like a case of bologna rejecting the grinder. Mr. Gore knows that the science backing up his calls for dramatic reduction of carbon emissions is increasingly shaky and that even adopting the Kyoto targets for such reductions would do little to address the accumulation of atmospheric carbon dioxide.

Several other critics of Mr. Gore also tried to interact with him at the conference -- with little success. Willie Soon, an astrophysicist at Harvard, asked Mr. Gore during the Q-and-A period what exactly he was trying to accomplish in practical terms with his proposals. Mr. Gore ignored the substance of the question and snidely said he was trying to save humanity.
Here are some posts from PowerLine, which has been tracking the whole "Global Warming/Climate Change" issue:

I've said it before: Human activity can, indeed, affect the climate, as evidenced by the fact that Central Texas was far ,more humid in the mid-90s when I was there than it was in the early 80s, before all those reservoirs were built, and the Sahara desert used to be an agricultural area, before the jihad that led to the Muslim conquest of all North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula. (Great, now there'll be a fatwa against me...)

But cooking the evidence to make your cause look more urgent than it is does no one any good.
