While the photos were allegedly taken for "sexting", the girls have not been accused of disseminating them.
Yes, yes, "sexting" stupid, child pornography bad, but... What are they thinking? A case where I agree with the ACLU:

Mr. Donohue (attorney for the former-DA who brought the original charges) argued that prosecutors have the right to prevent behavior by a child that could endanger that child.That opens up so many different cans of worms...

Apparently this Donohue guy is another one of those misguided politicians who thinks that gubmint has rights. Silly politician. Rights are for the people...
These parents should be admonished for raising children who believe that this behavior is acceptable.
