I was wondering what to post about Operation Overlord, if anything.  Saw this linked at PowerLine.

Marshall's reputation suffered when Hackworth wrote his memoirs.  It was always obvious in his personal writings that Marshal was a bit of a name dropper; apparently, based on Hackworth's version, all he talked about between interviewing GIs in Viet Nam was selling his new book to Hollywood for a new blockbuster a la Pork Chop Hill.

Not to speak ill of the dead, but later, Hackworth's success went to his head and he turned into something of a demagogue himself.
