If you go into Blogger Help to see what the heck they did to make word verification for comments so much more irritating than it used--and needs--to be, you get "Page Not Found."
Are they getting so much heat that they had to take it down? Maybe it's overwhelmed by bloggers wanting to go back that it crashed?
I suppose the change may have been prompted by the recent rash of spam commenting, but... Hey, Google! The new system sucks, let us use the old one.

I just gave up and turned it off. FIgured if I have decent eyes (and I do) and I'm struggling with the damn things then probly so are lots of other people. SO FAR blogger has caught all the spam itself so I haven't had to.
Yep. Also turned comment moderation on for comments older than 14 days, since comments that old have a high liklihood of being spam. We'll see.
I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering why it's harder to read.
